Bandung, 30 July 2026 – ACM Mercantile Exchange (ACM), together with the Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (Bappebti), the West Java Department of Industry and Trade (Disperindag), the West Java Commodity Auction Market Cooperative (KPLJB), and key stakeholders from the commodity industry, held a strategic coordination meeting to strengthen the development of the West Java Agricultural Commodity Auction Market.

The meeting marked the beginning of a collaborative initiative aimed at expanding market access for West Java's leading commodities while enhancing the competitiveness of local businesses.

As part of the event, ACM Mercantile Exchange and the West Java Commodity Auction Market Cooperative (KPLJB) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in developing the commodity auction market.

The signing represents an important milestone in fostering collaboration between an exchange operator and a regional commodity auction market, with the shared objective of building a more integrated commodity trading ecosystem. This partnership is expected to provide farmers, cooperatives, with broader market access while enhancing the global competitiveness of Indonesian commodities.

Representing ACM Mercantile Exchange, Ms. Cindy and Mr. Heryono stated that the collaboration reflects the company's commitment to supporting the development of Indonesia's commodity auction market through wider market access.

"The first phase of this collaboration is to expand trading access by integrating KPLJB's auction data and information into the ACM Exchange website. We hope this initial step will improve access to trading information in a broader, more efficient, and transparent manner. Going forward, ACM Exchange, KPLJB, and Bappebti will continue to work closely to introduce new innovations and opportunities that will benefit commodity trading in West Java," said Ms. Cindy.

Mr. Heryono added:

"As the industry evolves, commodity trading has also transformed. Traditional auction mechanisms are increasingly complemented by online trading platforms. At ACM Exchange, commodity transactions are conducted under a forward contract scheme through a digital platform. Through this collaboration, ACM Exchange aims to complement KPLJB's existing traditional auction system with ACM's digital auction platform which will be introduced gradually."

Meanwhile, Ms. Diah, Head of the Bureau of Warehouse Receipt System and Commodity Auction Market Development at Bappebti, emphasized that the collaboration marks an important step toward strengthening Indonesia's national commodity trading ecosystem.

"We hope this collaboration will expand market access for West Java's leading commodities, serve as a role model for other regions, and generate sustainable benefits for MSMEs and the broader economy," said Ms. Diah.

Mr. Kudrat, Chairman of KPLJB, expressed his appreciation for the collaboration among all stakeholders in supporting commodity trade in West Java. He emphasized the importance of clearly defined roles among each stakeholder to ensure that the development of the commodity auction market can be carried out more effectively and strategically.

The event also featured a live agricultural commodity auction at the UPTD Industri Pangan Olahan dan Kemasan in Bandung, Jawa Barat.

The live auction highlighted the revitalization of the West Java Agricultural Commodity Auction Market, reinforcing a trading mechanism that is transparent, efficient, and responsive to market demand.

In addition, the event included the official inauguration of the new Board of Management of the West Java Commodity Auction Market Cooperative (KPLJB) for the 2026–2031 term.

With strong support from the government, industry associations, and market participants, this collaboration is expected to strengthen the position of the West Java Agricultural Commodity Auction Market as a competitive commodity trading hub, expand access to international markets, and create greater value for farmers, cooperatives, and MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises) across Indonesia.
