ACM Exchange and VFCA Sign Strategic MOU to Advance Commodity Derivatives Market

ACM Exchange and VFCA have formalized a long term partnership to encourage greater cooperation in commodity derivatives education, market awareness, and professional capacity building. The agreement also supports stronger regional connections within the financial and commodity sectors.

Jakarta - 12 June 2026, ACM Mercantile Exchange (ACM Exchange) and the Vietnam Financial Advisors Association (VFCA) joined forces through a strategic MOU for 2026–2031, establishing a framework to advance the commodity derivatives market through education, research, risk management, and regional collaboration.

Held in Hanoi on 10 June 2026, the signing ceremony brought together representatives from ACM Exchange and VFCA to explore opportunities for cooperation in developing the commodity derivatives market.

Mr. Arwadi J. Setiabudi, President Director of ACM Exchange, highlighted the Exchange's extensive experience in the commodity derivatives market across the region. He emphasized ACM Exchange's commitment to supporting market growth through training, knowledge-sharing initiatives, and industry collaboration. He expressed the Exchange's interest in developing programs tailored to the needs of the Vietnamese market.

Mr. Arwadi said the Exchange sees strong potential for collaboration with VFCA in advancing market education and industry development.

“By combining ACM's practical experience with VFCA's local expertise, we can create meaningful programs that strengthen the commodity derivatives ecosystem and support sustainable market growth through education, knowledge sharing, and consulting initiatives, he said.

Dr. Le Minh Nghia, Chairman of VFCA, emphasized the strong alignment between the two organizations in promoting market development and strengthening financial expertise. He added that the partnership should focus on practical and results-driven initiatives to deliver meaningful value to market participants, businesses, and investors.

During the session, Associate Professor Dr. Nghiem Thi Tha, Vice President and General Secretary of VFCA, introduced the Association’s mission and ongoing initiatives. She highlighted VFCA’s efforts to enhance financial literacy, provide policy recommendations, connect educational institutions, organize professional seminars and workshops, and deliver corporate financial advisory services to support the development of Vietnam’s financial industry.

As part of the partnership, ACM Exchange is open to collaborating with VFCA and the Financial Investment Magazine (Vietnam Finance) to organize professional training programs, industry workshops, and seminars, to enhance market awareness and industry expertise.

A strategic working session was conducted between VFCA and representatives of ACM Mercantile Exchange (ACM), Indonesia, to enhance cross-border collaboration.

"We see strong potential in this collaboration and are committed to supporting ACM through media outreach and industry events that enhance market awareness and contribute to the development of Vietnam's derivatives ecosystem," said Mr. Hoang Anh Minh, Permanent Vice Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Finance Investment Magazine.

Under the MOU, the two sides will combine their respective strengths to develop human capital in the commodity derivatives market, help businesses strengthen their ability to hedge against price volatility, and connect experts, financial institutions, and enterprises across the ASEAN commodity market ecosystem.

They also agreed to study the development of training programs and professional competency standards, strengthen business connections, build certification programs aligned with international practices, and promote expert exchange.

By combining ACM Exchange's market expertise with VFCA's industry network, this collaboration seeks to drive innovation, strengthen professional capabilities, and promote sustainable growth in the commodity derivatives sector, creating new opportunities for market participants across Vietnam and the ASEAN region.
